Saivaara Cottages is a family-owned business in Kilpisjärvi, which is a remote tiny Arctic village in the far northwestern corner of Finnish Lapland. Saivaara Cottages are located in the Salmivaara region, within a short walk of the services in the village center of Kilpisjärvi.

Eight Arctic seasons in Kilpisjärvi

Kilpisjärvi is the home of eight Arctic seasons. Each season has a distinctive character.

Early summer brings in the nightless nights and winter gives up its last grip. The snowfields disappear and nature comes back to life after a long winter's rest.

Summer starts in mid-June and bursts into full bloom in July. August presents softly darkening nights and the first Northern Lights.

September is a celebration of colors during the autumn foliage. October offers picturesque tranquility while nature prepares for winter. Winter and the Polar Night land in the village in November.

Winter wraps four seasons into one long snow-filled Arctic playground and showcases star-studded moonlit nights, marvelous Northern Lights, howling snowstorms, dazzling sunshine and glittering snow.
